The Visitor visa allows you to visit Australia, either for tourism or business purposes. It is open to all nationalities. Generally, a period of stay of up to 3 months. Applicants can apply from both outside and in Australia. It is a temporary visa.

In general, this visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 3, 6 or 12 months.
Duration and Conditions
This visa is for persons who wish to visit Australia for:
- a holiday or recreation
- visit family and/or friends
- other short-term non-work purposes including study for less than three (3) months and 6 or 12 months.
This visa does not allow you to work in Australia or study for more than 3 months.
Eligibity
- You must satisfy specific criteria relating to the visa stream you are applying for.
- You must meet the genuine temporary stay requirement.
- You must be able to demonstrate that you have access to sufficient funds to cover the cost of your stay in Australia.
- You must satisfy certain Public Interest criteria and Special Return criteria.
- You must meet health and character requirements.
